Some people will and do make the best of TIME others waste it and will never gain it back. The idea of GROUP OF PEOPLE SHOWING UP ON THE SITE AT THE SAME TIME......is a simple one yet as of today it has still yet to happen. Some people use their time to jump into work and make the best of everyday. Others wait to be told what to do; not everyone is a leader but I would like to think that everyone would want to work hard and not let down themself, classmates, theachers, community, and the Evans family.

Today we had a good turn out from the community moved dirt and clear the site. The site now looks and feels like a construction area. Which is a great feeling to get out of studio and do something productive and meaning full not just digital architecture that will never benifit anyone.
Which bring this topic up to mind is it better to desgin the "perfect building in a digital world and never have it built, win awards and fame" or is it better to build a SIMPLE AFFORDABLE house that will impact a family and a community for a long period of time. I think the second one is more important to change someones life is more important than to spend months developing something that is photoshop, to impress.
I have felt that my, school ,education would contradict these ideas, and to some point I think this will eduction will reflect the architects that are produced from my school.

The start of SOMETHING

This project is many things to many people. A home. A project. A assignment. A grade. A learning experince. A gift. A lesson. A end. Alot of things. Sometimes you can loose sight of the first one which is creating a SIMPLE AFFORDABLE space. We all have alot to learn from each other and this experince. Some people are learning trust. Some will learn what a watch is for.Some will have to learn what work is, in office and on site. Some will learn what compromise is. Some will learn to lead and others to follow. Some will learn that a persons word is not enough. Some will learn dissapointment. Some will learn that drawing is not building a space, that building a space is a different achivement than just drawing it. We will all learn that just because someone is the leader does not make their input right.
We have started the on site work as of last week the learning curve was huge within that week. Textbook knowledge will now merge with real life work experince.
The next few months I would expect all of the above to be true. We will see.

Group Work

The current group of M, J, M, J, and M seem to work well. The (moblie unit, prefab, portable home, etc..) idea is reached a new direction and almost an end to exploration. We have only two plans to look over and then like Thunder Dome two ideas enter only one may leave.
